IS is possible for me to open an EU account useing the copy of wow i have now?

Hi im new to wow i dont even have a chr made yet. I got the game to join some old guildmates from SWG (corbantis server spaceball guild). But i find i can not get EU servers arg! what am i missing here? is there something i can do to get on the EU realms? WOW looks like a great game, but it wont be ...
