This is something I have been wanting to do for some time now but had bigger things to do. Granted I still have bigger things to do, but sometimes you just need a change of pace, right?

So I have created a sig maker. I haven't made it totally open to the public yet (well other than not providing links other than right here) as I wanted to get a smaller number of folks playing with it before I unleashed it to the public at large.

Anyway, here's the link:

http://www.warcraftrealms.com/sigmaker.php

In order to get your personal sig, you'll need to get your character ID. You can get it by looking at your character history page. It should tell you what the character ID is. Just copy this into the CharacterID field on the sig maker.

Eventually I'll have a direct link from the history page to the sig maker, but this will do for now.

The idea is that eventually, you'll be able to create a custom sig that will auto update as you level and/or change guilds. I will also be adding in support for PVP honor and ranks (but it's not in right now). I have a few other things in mind for this too!

As it stands right now, once you have created your custom sig, it is static until you recreate it again. It will not currently dynamically update, although this is top priorty for this feature and I hope to have it done within a day or two.

So go play with it and create your own custom sig! If you get a combination that is pretty cool, post it here so we can all have a look!

The image in my sig is my custom sig!

Really neat and fun to play with :D.

It would be handy to have a page with font examples and background examples because I feel bad sucking up your bandwith looking at the different stuff with no clue what they look like. Now I want to go through all the different pics and fonts, hehe. The pics I saw were very nice and were well position for the sig maker, plus they didn't distract from the words. My first thought when I heard 'sig maker' is of those sites that make those eye burning sigs/banners and this was a really nice surprise.

Tauren is mispelled in the picture names, but it's consistent and the images aren't broken.[/img]

Yeah, that's something else I want to do before I make the link to the page more public. It's bandwidth consuming, not to mention just plain not user friendly.

I actually think there is a way I could do it with javascript to load each image on the page when you select it from the drop menu. I just don't know much about client side javascript so I need to do a little research.

Glad you are enjoying it, and shame on me for the Tauren mispelling =x

Honestly? Because all the current images come from the website media kit and it just so happens there were more of those usable than others, hehe.

I'll be adding more as time goes by. I just need to get in game and take some screenshots to use.

Well, I did at least get a sort of image preview in place =) Now I just need to get the fonts working like that as well.

Font priview in too! I am thinking it's fairly ready for release!

Hi there,

very well done. One thing, though: Please add a transparent background image for making a small "text only" version of the signature. You could use that for small and subtle signatures which do not consume that much height in a forum (for example).

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I hope to add additional formats and probably will as time goes by. I figured the 380X120 was a good size for starting out and will probably be the largest dimensions offered.
