New way to get character history

I'm still playing with it, but I've added the ability to reference character data by server and name, ala
http://www.warcraftrealms.com/char/Bloodscalp/Rollie
The old way still works too:

I may further tinker with putting faction, race and class in the URL but haven't decided yet. Just an FYI to anyone who would be interested =)

Ooh I like it

That makes it quicker to find people than searching the name and picking them out of the results. Will you do the same for guilds eventually as well? I guess spaces in names might make that tricker though

Oh, and spaces should work just fine

Least when I type it into Firefox, it does it okay.

Could you substitute underscores for spaces, or are underscores a valid character in guild names?

Wow.
Many thanks Rollie.

Hrm... not sure if underscores are allowed or not. But could substitute if so. Will look into it.

I don't mind the old way, though the new way is quicker because you can go straight to it if you know char name n stuff

There is still the possible problem with name collisions so I may have to think on it a bit.

I like it, and guildnames do indeed work -

As for name collisions I already tried it on a couple of my characters that I'd deleted and remade, and it seems to default to the more recently seen/higher level one (not sure which as both my cases were the same) and that works well enough, as that's likely to be the one people want when they type it in.

Seems to be most recent. I've had two characters on Burning Legion named
Aestus, the newest of which has a lower level. Still, he
shows up at the appropriate URL.

Yeah, I set it so it'll pick the 'latest' one.
Also, looks like there have been a couple of guilds with underscores, dunno if they are legit though:

http://www.warcraftrealms.com/guilds/982911
Those are the only 2 in my DB with underscores though
