after logging in I check my addons and the Census mod shows up as 'out of date'. I see that some of you are still updating realms that I play so obviously the mod is still working. What do I need to do? thanks

Hello!

Have you got a check mark in the "Load out of date Addons" box?

I thought so but now that you say that I'm not so sure. Would be funny if it was such a simple thing. I will check it tonight when I get home from work, tyvm for your reply

Patches tend to remove the check mark, so that might very well be it. Good luck! Let me know what happened after you have been able to check. :)

I've never understood why patches disable "load old addons", as after a patch is probably the time where it's mostly needed...

Probably to stop people yelling at Blizz over bugs caused by running old addons - if you have to make a conscious decision to enable them, you might also update them first, or at least have them in mind before rushing off to tech support when something's broken. Thankfully Census almost never causes problems anyway, so being outdated doesn't matter here :)

After you have verified that your addon works fine with "Load old Addons".. you can update the version number in the .TOC file which will allow you to turn back on the version checker... so you don't have other out of date addon give you problems.

If you don't know what the current version number should be.. you can just download any current addon from your favorite addon site and check it's *.TOC file. Remember to use a pure text editor.. such as Notepad available from the Windows Accessories folder. You don't want to screw things up with silly hidden formatting changes.
