and now for something totally different BWL

I never bothered with BWL when I was an active (but casual) player.
Since I now have time on the account, I thought I would hit as many dungeon and raid achievements before the time runs out.
Soloing Razorgore has been very frustrating on my warlock(90)... the mind control orb doesn't respond to my clicking.
Any idea what I might be missing?

Must be addon-issues, because I never have problems..

You have to dismiss your pet to use the orb.

Thanks Chad81..
I should have figured that one out..
a number of (if not all) WoW quests where you take (become) a vehicle won't work with minions.
Evil Minions..
and it also explains why none of the wowhead comments mentions the player being protected by the pet while point of view is at Razorgore.

As a super casual player (who had nothing but bad experiences with pugs) I stopped doing at level dungeons when my family/friends guild moved on to other activities.
I can't promise to dedicate specific time for game playing, unlike Metalbeast who's game play is built around those specific Raid times.
So I find myself waiting for 6.2 with an active account and time on my hands.
Almost sounds Biblical!
I thought I would work on dungeon and raid achievements.
I suppose the way I am having my first encounter with these instances (no cheating.. going in dumb and stupid) is a little bit odd.
Solo at difficulty Heroic or 25 person.. why do it twice?
I do die some times... on the other hand, I tend to keep the minion at passive, so it doesn't steal my loot options.
And a couple of days ago I got the first ever Legendary weapon in the guild.. which still exists.. just doesn't have anyone active most of the time.

Lol, I like your approach, I tend to start gently and work my way up instead though

10-normal then see what I can do in tougher difficulties for me, I've gone as far as Dragon Soul now (saw that on LFR anyway but normal mode was new to me), it's fun soloing places like that!
Also so much more relaxed to explore at my own pace instead of trying to keep up with a pug; I do LFR enough but most 5-mans I don't do until I can duo them with my other half - I'm still after 6 months trying to force myself to do the 3 heroics required to start me off on the legendary chain. Maybe I'll get there soon...

Dragon soul really needs to be done on HC, so you can have the Handmaiden mount..
10HC is super easy..

I'll be trying heroic next time, but damn, Spine was hard enough on normal, I hope it doesn't ramp up too much more on heroic! The damage aspect was fine, it was the mechanics, yeesh, took a few goes before I worked it out properly, those rolls are seriously annoying

Spine isn't hard, it's just super annoying..
Kill all but one tentacle.
Stand where a tentacle was until you have killed enough blood (min 9)
Kill tentacle to get an abomination, let it grow with blood, kill it near plate, kill tendon.
Rinse and repeat twice.
When you stand, where a tentacle was, you are secured, when he rolls...

Trying to solo the Chess match in Karazhan is beyond me.

It's possible.... But can be a pain...
I usually used 3 tries to succeed, back when I farmed Karazhan..
It's such a long time, since I did it, I can't even write tips for it anymore

Yeah I worked out the Spine tactics over time, think I got it now, but ouch, tbh I probably should've looked it up before just jumping in and trying
Chess sucks, my solution to it was: take an alt on follow (having 2 accounts is great!); it's a lot less painful if you can control 2 characters at once. Generally I'd have one in the king spamming buffs on cd, and one in the queen trying to nuke the opposing king from range - because all abilities have a longish global cd it's easy to tab between characters and use both reasonably optimally.
I think to solo it you need to play as the queen most the time, but then if Medivh sticks fire under your king you're screwed, so I guess there's a bit more to it...!
