Character's Guild History Reset?

It seems that my character's guild history has either been reset or deleted. The page now says that he was first seen on March 28, 2016, whereas the old data had him first seen back in late 2005.
When I go to my profile, it shows that I only have 3 of my other characters claimed and not 4 and it is no longer shown in ex-members of past guilds that I was in, which makes me think that the character was deleted from the site and then a new one was made when it saw me next.
Character in question:

Thanks.

Similar, a lot of old vanilla char info has dissappeared for me too.

Weirdly, mine has my prior history, but then suddenly I was no longer seen since September 2016. Which is unlikely, as it's always been my main and log in on virtually a daily basis with her (and obviously do the census on her). I do note that there are multiple "versions" of my character .. several at 90 and one at 110 .. which there had been before .. but now those lower levelled versions don't have any data attached.

You haven't been seen since September 2016.. because you have not leveled to 111..
i.e what you see on that list is the first date seen at your level.

Not for previous levels it wasn't. For example there are multiple data points showing for level 90 and 100 .. although saying that, the ones at level 100 appear to show me leaving/joining the same guild several times, which didn't happen, so perhaps it was only logging something when it thought there was a change to my character/guild status. That isn't the case at level 90, however.
It sounds like you're saying that, in theory, the character history should only show *changes* .. ie when I changed level, or changed guild. If everything was the same as previous, it wouldn't add an extra data point?
I can understand that .. especially for characters that are on, and have their data uploaded regularly, otherwise you'd end up with some massive pages of data. And I suppose, once it's up and running again, it will show when that character was seen last in-game at the top, so you have a rough idea of a characters activity.

I can say that I know information has vanished. I made a backup several years ago and put it in a document. Fx. my character Ardazra
http://www.warcraftrealms.com/charsheet/3286251
If you look at the history... compared to this:
33 Order of the Black Rose May 28, 05
30 Skull Squadron Mar 17, 05
28 Unguilded Mar 15, 05
25 Unguilded Mar 08, 05
24 Unguilded Mar 06, 05
23 Unguilded Mar 04, 05
20 Unguilded Mar 03, 05
18 Unguilded Feb 27, 05
13 Unguilded Feb 21, 05
as an example, this has happened for almost all my characters.
I know you only keep increments of 5 but couldn't you keep first seen date at least?

@Lothrim: My memory maybe in error, but if my recollection is correct, there were some fairly major problems in 2015 and a lot of data was permanently lost... Those steps of 5 are attempts of at least partial recovery. For just about all my characters, very old details are just... gone.

That is one of my oldest characters, created in the spring of 2008... but he has no history prior to 2015.

That is the character I post on as MVP on the Blizzard forum. As you can see, he has some steps of 5 left... but many parts of his history are gone, too. I think the original data first saw him at level 26, somewhere around May / June 2008. It is also worth noting that he was created on the same date as the priest above.
In other words, the data you wish for has not been intentionally removed, it has been lost.
EDIT: Couple of minor typos.

Well the data is not completely lost since I have backup of it. The question is can I resubmit my data for my vanilla chars so it's out there again?
