Couple of new site features ready for testing!

So I mentioned yesterday that Economic stats are on the way.

Well, I'm ready to unveil the first of the site features pertaining to this. I haven't added these links to the site yet as I still want to see a little testing done on them first, but here they are for the forum visiters first!

First up, we have the Item Price history view.

http://www.warcraftrealms.com/itemsearch.php

Search for an item and you will be able to view that item's average buyout price in the Auction House per server/faction that has been submitted. If you follow the link, you can even view price trends for that item, but as I've only been collecting this data for a week now, the price trend data is very limited.

Next up is the general server economic index page.

http://www.warcraftrealms.com/realmeconomics.php

This creates an index from a set of items to calculate an economic index for a realm/faction. I'm still tweaking this so it's fairly preliminary. Next up will be the addition of seeing the moving index trends over time. I am working through some possible issues with this and it won't be very accurate for new servers, but it's a start!

Feedback welcome!

Good to see this coming along :) As an AH junkie I will be using this.

Now why does everything display in 100's of silver? Gold breakdown impossible or still in work?

And any better explanation to the number on the economics report? I don't understand it. Azgalor is 113.... but what does it all mean bazzle?

I really like the tool :D

Wow... it is well done.

Anyways I assume we just submit our same ole sv.lua correct?

Yeah, for now, it's all in side the same SavedVariables.lua file. With the next patch however, mods will have the capability to save their data to their own individial file so some things will need to change.

I am still refining the server index. I'll make a better explanation of the number later.

As for display in silver, I think that is the most common expression and is why I factor everything to silver instead of gold. I might make this a user option at some point though, we'll see!

Couple suggestions.

Provide an option to "average" the item across all servers/all US/all EU. That way when you click "All" you get a consensus of the prices. Or maybe just average them out at the bottom.

Next offer a x10 column for those of us who hate to do math. Like enchanting supplies... Strange Dust x1=5s x10=50s

And still again think about breaking it down into G S C... if possible. I like to research big sellers. Bigger the risk the bigger the reward

Actually adding an "average" price block at the top of the item list page when you do an "All" server search would work :)

I'm working on getting overall averages in. Requires some separate processing though. Soon!

Is this updating correctly? I have tracked Large Brilliant Shards on Azgalor for a couple days now with 3 or so submissions and the information in item search has not updated?

Is it slow update or am I missing something? I know for a fact the prices are different because in game the Auctioneer lists them selling at 4G 1S average.

The item listings will average by BO price over a week time period. The latest data will lag by a week as the data is not tallied until the end of the week. So, for example, your shards that you are seeing now, won't be factored in until Sunday and will show up under the average prices for the week ending Aug 27.

Also, realize that this part is still under development and there may be bugs. So definately keep letting me know if you see things that look amiss!
