That's okay, look at my sig. It just screams OUTDATED too! Sad thing is that Rollie has been retired and I'm only playing my Warrior these days =(

Wow and you are even a protection warrior. Not many of them around anymore.

Honestly, there's not much reason to =/
DK's blow away all the other tanking classes in nearly every regard. Bear druids are probably hurting a bit more than Prot warrs, but they have niche tanking spots. Paly tanks are quite well off too.
But DKs? Insanely better at everything any of the other tanks can do. Better AE aggro. More panic buttons. More armor, more avoidance, often more hp, better DPS while tanking and MUCH better DPS while not.
If you are in a min/maxing guild, there is little reason to even take a prot warrior if you have other options available.
Patch 3.1 will pull DK's down a bit, but I still think they are going to be head and shoulders above the other tanking classes. So it goes!

Funny how perspective goes based on what you've grouped with - my experience of DK tanks is they're terrible, can't hold aggro, take really spiky damage and would be my last choice of tank... maybe I've just not been lucky enough to find a good one!
My guild's maintanks were a prot warrior and feral druid though, of the two I preferred healing the druid in general (warrior was better geared but druid's higher health and armor was very handy indeed on Malygos in particular, don't think it was a coincidence that our tries improved a lot when we switched to him tanking and the warrior respeccing fury) but both were vastly better than any DK I've met. But then being in a small guild our only DK tanks were alts anyway, and my only other experience of them is in pugs.

My theory on why you see DK tanks as sub-par is due to the sheer number of non-tanking people who rolled DK's and are now ignorant tanking DK's.

Well one reason I retired DK is on my server still 18% of Horde is DK. This makes it very hard to get a party or raid. Where as other classes I like (hunter, mage, DPS druid and DPS warrior) have no problem at all getting in one. Now will admit never tanked more than 50 times since starting MMOs in 1996. (90% of the time DPS and other 10% healer in FFXI)

Probably very true, it'd be the same reason why I see the dps ones as being arrogant aggro-happy idiots... because all the fotm rerollers who were bad warlocks and rogues in TBC are now DKs

Good ones presumably do exist, I just haven't met them!

Yeah, well played DK's, both DPS and tanks are amazing.
