Announcing Character Profiles online!

WarcraftRealms.com is proud to present our implementation of Character Profiling! Not wanting to push any particular design on our end users, we have gone with an open ended option. The default view is a no frills display of your character data and equipment.

You can see an example here:

Soon you will be able to fully customize how your profile looks. If you know a little CSS then you're in business! I will also be providing some different views for profiles!

In order to have your character profile displayed, you will need to download the World of Warcraft CensusPlus UI Mod. It will automatically capture your character's data while playing. When you Upload your data file, you will have the option of processing your character data.

By default, the character profiles are hidden. You will need to log in and visit your character's history page in order to enable the profile to be seen. You must have claimed your character in order to unhide the profile data.

In there i'm lvl 49 and my old guild, but my profile says 50 and my new guild.So what gives?

Profile data is separate from the WR data. I may tie these together in the future, but for now they are separate entities. It was just easier to get it online this way. Be sure to manually upload and click the Process Profiles optional link after your file is uploaded.

I need to make it an automatic processing since I made them default to hidden. I'll get that done asap. This should make the UU users happy too =)

I think it only processes the character info if you upload through the website, not through Uni-Uploader. Of my two main characters only one has information and it's a few days out of date... and I remember having the option to upload that data when I used the web upload a few days back. I hadn't used the other main character for some time at that point, and have done (and had uploads via UU processed) since then, so I'm guessing there's a conenction there.

Any chance of making it possible to upload the character data with Uni-Uploader, if I'm right that that's the problem?

I have a problem with my main chat. When I update the .lua it gives me the option to load the profile of my second char but doesn't give me the option for the main. I guess it might be because the name of the main is Seventit? and it's got a strange char at the end "?" which might not always recognised in databases or such, but that's just a wild guess.

Am I wrong ? Is there something that I'm not doing ?

Hello together,

I think I'am to stupid to do this.

First I claimed my character.
Then I visited the character history page but I do not see any button to unhide my profile. Where can I activate the profile?

I am thankful for every suggestion.

Seventit? - That could possibly pose a problem, I'll have to look into it.

Whenever I click YES to upload my profile data, I get the following error:

updating Zeboim
Locale => US <=
Unknown on Moonrunner not found! Unable to update this character!

I have her claimed, but I don't see any sort of profile enabling button or link on her character page or on my complete character sheet. The char in question is Zeboim on Moonrunner (US).

Balgair - You are probably correct for this forum!

geoline & Firedancer - fixed a problem where it wasn't working correctly for unguilded characters. I re-ran both of your latest submissions and your profiles should be there for you now!

kk. Make a post here once you make it UU compatible, but that leads to say, that it will auto do it, so what about the ppl that don't want it to be done O_o?

Well, by default the profiles are hidden. You have to un-hide them in order for them to be viewable. Do you see a problem with that?

Looks like I was right. Resubmitted some data tonight and look at what it said:

updating Seventitù
Locale => EU <=
CHARACTER: Seventitù on EU-Crushridge not found! Unable to update this character!

Profile data is not currently listed on your character sheet. This will be added soon, I just need to complete some user option choices first.

See the way it spells Seventit? ? That's the problem.

I made an addition to check for UTF-8 characters and reran your submission. Give it a look now.
