Historical Census Data

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to download historical census data (from previous years/months) - is there any way to do that?

I am a grad student and i thought i could use the data (aggregate server data would be best) for some advanced statistical analysis to back up my thesis - this is why i need the data over time.

if there is no data available - perhaps you know of other similar sites that host this kind of data....
