I am trying to track a character that may have transfered from another realm.
Is the ID number that is displayed on the top left of the Character History page a unique number? Does it follow the character to whatever server it transfer to?
Thanks!

The ID number does not follow someone from server to server. We have no way of tracking such information.
If all is good and the person that transfered kept the same name then you can easily find them. But once they changed their names its a bit more difficult.

Thanks for the super quick reply.
The only problem is that with popular names you may have multiple people who fit the same name, class, and race, its impossible to tell who is who.
Any ideas?

You can do trial and error. If you already know the level of the person who transfered, then thats a start. Even better if their 60. And you know they can't change the race or class or go from US realm to an EU realm. So all that is left is a name.... If you can think of some ideas then spend sometime checking through each one of the results that you get back and see which one shows when they are only level 60.
For example:
http://www.warcraftrealms.com/char/Silvermoon/Kelix is one person who transfered to Silvermoon from a previous realm and it only shows their one record as being level 60.
The process may be a bit easier if we had an option to search by period of time. For example: Searching for a first seen date between December 15th up until now that is ONLY a level 60 undead mage. So the database will have to see this person first as being a 60 undead mage, and have no previous record of the person being level 1 to level 59. If the person transfered as 55 then you would search for a first seen level of 55 - 56, just in case they weren't caught at being 55 you have some room to play with.
Hoping that the results returned are a reasonable number, you can then proceed to check each of the profiles and perhaps make a char on that realm and go 'stalk' the person
Rollie, if your reading.... You need to work on that search feature.... Yet another thing to put on that 'list' of yours

Hmm... I wonder if it would be possible to track by the number, if Rollie assigned a unique number to each character seen.

Each ID is unique to a character, yes, but I'm not sure how that would work to track transfers.
