CensusPlus V6.1.2

Looking through the processing logs I noticed very very few people with a problem with uploads.

If you are getting E errors on your uploads.... or are uploading anonymously[no way for you to verify upload was good], you might want to read the following.


The failure happens in initial parsing of the file in the [INFO] section.
It is an odd failure that very few people see and I can't quite pin down. But I seem to have found a user fix.

On the client that is failing you should do the following.
Delete the CensusPlus.lua file that is failing.
Delete and reinstall CensusPlus in your Interface folder.
Log in on that client, open CensusPlus window, and reset your options.
Do not do a census.
Log out on the character saving the CensusPlus.lua file.
From this point you should be able to log in and run CensusPlus as normal and have it process here at WarcraftRealms.com.

(As an aside .. I noticed that many have left the Censusplus timer to the default 30 minutes[1800 seconds].
After you have saved the CensusPlus file for the first time, you might want to change the timer to somewhere between 5-29 minutes.
When the addon sees the timer level less then 30 minutes it will start a Census run as soon as you have finished logging in on the character instead of waiting for the initial timer to run down.

As per the in game help.. typing in your chat window
/census timer 5
will set the timer to 5 minutes.

I have been doing more log and input file scanning.

There are two different error notes that sometimes pop up in the upload processing log.
Bad LoginServer, this indicates your region can not be determined.
This is part of the [INFO] section of your data file.. but do not bother checking, since it is almost certainly in your file correctly.
The problem is that the structure of the CensusPlus_database table where all are interesting data lives is corrupt.

If you have a member account, you can check your upload history, if you are seeing status E over and over again... you need to do what I posted above.

The other error that very rarely pops up is Bad Date => blank Year:2016
This shows that for a character the date data is missing.

I just finished scanning an EU-Dalaran Alliance section of an anonymous upload where line 132,768 (ouch my head hurts) had an entry for 'name_redacted' with no other information.. no level, guild, or date!
Unlike the above error only the character without data is impacted and the remainder of the upload is processed.

Oh by the way.. 'name_redacted' is a joke.. as I had closed the upload file and can not remember the character name.
This bad data should go away for that uploader then next time he/she captures the same character and gets the data correctly stored.
