Best realms?

Hi, I'll be subscribing to Wow sometime in the next month, and I was wondering how I should choose a server.
Like, what kind of things I should take into account, like, server population (high, med, or low?), Faction ratios (should there be an equal or higher or lower no. of oposing players). Should I join a server which already has a high no. of my preferred class?
Anyway, I'm just looking for any information, views or opinions at all.
