I appologize in advance for what may be a silly question but I have perused your site and not found the answer. When I first type /censusplus in game and the screen comes up, what is the data that is being displayed before I hit any keys? I am curious where that data is from because it was registering no gnomes, no dwarfs and no rogues. At the time I was standing in IF and saw planty of little people running by. Thank you for your reply.

If you have not actually done a snapshot, then the only data collected would be people you hover your mouse over (and get a tooltip). That data is added to the local Census database.

Thank you for the reply. The second time I logged in I saw the information was updated.
One more question for you. I am on server Icecrown (Alliance) and noted that it is in need of updates. How often would you like a census to be ran? Once per day? At different times of the day? I ran two today one at 11:30 and one at about 3:45 and noted vast differences in number of players. Just wanted to know what would be most helpfull for the site.

What I do is just put it on Auto-Census, turn off Verbose and let 'er rip! It'll take a Census snapshot about every 30 mins or so. Then you can just submit your data every couple of days or so and you'll get pretty good coverage!
Even just 1 consistent updater can really cover a faction/realm. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Hmm... should I purge data before running the census?

You don't have to, but it will clear out all old data.
It is good to do a Purge when you upgrade to a newer version.
