This also means, that CensusPlus must be ready at 23/8-16, as Blizzard have said (some time ago) that Demon Hunters are available one week before release, for thos that have pre-purchased..
Gnome Hunters will be available when pre-patch is released (probably 2/8-16), which is a minor change.

I understand that BOYD probably needs a well earned break, after the huge work on the "resume census on new toon" work.

Rumor has it, AddOns have been enabled on the latest Alpha update, so maybe preliminary steps should be done soon(tm)? Sadly, I don't have access, to Alpha, so I can't test anything. Anyone?

No need for Panic!

Unless a change is slipped into the API coding, CensusPlus is ready for Legion.

Gnome Hunters have been in the CensusPlus code base for years, waiting for Blizzard to make them real.
I could push the Legion update out now... but that would only confuse a lot of people who don't pay attention.

Admittedly WarcraftRealms.com needs to have some changes made.. but that is in Metalbeast hands.
the change to max level 110 .. no big deal
The addition of DemonHunters for Alliance and Horde Elf.. will take him a bit more time.
(it is the graphic changes that are the pain in the ....)

oh and Rumor is very wrong.
Considering that last alpha build just finished unlocking the final character sub-type Destro locks.
and they have a completely new way for working max level play.
The last thing Blizzard wants is confusion caused by third party addons.

but then I don't need alpha to show this

Yep, I read a vague mention that some people have tweaked the client to allow addons, but they're certainly not supposed to at present, and given the amount of crashing without addons, I really can't imagine enabling them being at all a good idea just yet - I do well if I stay ingame an hour without being booted to the character select screen or crashing to desktop :P

I'll happily do some testing when they are enabled btw, but I don't expect that to happen for a while yet; we've got plenty of time :)

While n the process of changing gfx, could we have races/classes sorted like on character creation screen (alpha ascending)?

Both for display and for census taking, please...

You are an evil evil person....

Also, your chat window shows Orc to be the last race to be scanned (Orc should come before both Undead, Troll, Tauren and Pandaren), so just one more proof of your wickedness :P

Well MMO-C claims addons are now enabled; I'm inclined to think it's still too early but hey, feel free to mail me any test builds you have and I'll see how it goes :) Worst that can happen is I crash and that happens without them anyway :P

Thought I'd have a play with the latest live version; it's evidently not loading all textures as there's some nice green boxes all over it, and it brings up an error on load related to the button ("info" is a nil value, apparently) but hey, being able to even open the window is progress on what it's usually like in beta ;)

Attempted to start a census and got an insta-dc... on the plus side, having disabled the animated button, no error on load this time ;) 2nd attempt, no dc but no census either, couple of errors coming up but hey, I'll leave that till I have a version intended for Legion, this was just a quick experiment :)

Make sure you delete the current Censusplus from your alpha client.
Considering the fact that Alpha, Beta, and PTR all have unique oddball identifiers for the servers, I would expect it to crash.
The new levels would cause problems since the client should pick up on the 101-110 levels but then not handle the display.
The new class... couldn't be queried.. but might be seen if the pop level for 100 or below was below the 49 count.
If seen it would end up being Unknown .. impossible combo

Considering how unstable Alpha is and will remain for some time...
Their really isn't any sense in testing CensusPlus at this time.

Moved this topic since it was addon related and not site related.

To mostly prove a point,(Blizzard only opened up Lua addon section to support testing their protected code in the Interface/addon folder):
I obtained Alpha/Beta specific server information .. needed to allow CensusPlus to run without barfing.
Then after making the mods to allow running in this non-standard environment.
The code was sent to an Alpha tester...
Here is what the results look like.
Image

Loading from login crashes almost all addons, they have to be launched from within game using reloadUI.
Textures that are not Blizzard specific .BLP format (only Blizzard can generate these) fail to load.. that is why you see all the Green(image not found) sections.
Sound that isn't from Blizzard also fails.

As you can see from the verbose mode.. /Census take works fine.. you just can't see the results in game.

Congrats on the Beta... but I think we are pretty much done..
Unless you can do translations.
