Removing Inactive Players

Post by melynda »

Ok this is going to be far out there, but I have to ask. I recieve an automated email every day from our database advising me of members that are on your list for our guild that are not in our member list so I can go add them.

The problem I run into, is half of these people have been removed from the guild for inactivity or left for another guild. Is there a way that you can setup some permissions for a "guildmaster" to log in (just like we do now to update our guild information and such) and be able to remove players from our listing manually?

Obviously, if someone gets removed in error then its not a big deal as they will show back up during the next census, but there doesn't seem to be a way to clear up our roster up here for those people that just never log in again.

Thanks so much !!

Hrm... if you are uploading your guild data, then it should reflect what you see in your in game guild roster. Is that not happening correctly?

I'll be honest!! I have not really "delved" into your mod. I thought it was an outstanding idea and I have been just taking census via the default settings. Is there a spot here on the forums I can go read on how to upload specifically my guild data?

Thanks so much!!

Just run the Census scan and submit your data. It should normally update the guild roster to show whats in game after the data gets processed...

Your guild: http://www.warcraftrealms.com/guilds/378849

I can see your issue... Some people are still there from last year, and they prob have been removed long ago. The ones that leave to join another guild, those ones should update once someone who uploads data has a different guild name than the one listed here. The ones that got kicked due to inactivity. Now that is where your issue is correct?

Also as an fyi, I believe the ones that show their race as being unknown are chars which were uploaded by someone in the guild. They were never seen by anyone, just their names are listed in the guild roster. Because the roster doesn't show what race you are. If you /who someone it does. So thats where the Unknown comes in.

Hopefully Rollie can provide more info :)

When you upload your data, are you logged into the site? Make sure the next time you upload that you are logged in so I can track down your submission and see what's up.

Thanks!

Correct! The realms webpage reflects 429 members when we have 329 at the moment! :)

I am usually logged in when I submit my data but I will double check next time (I did try to submit this morning but found a new version!). I will submit tonight.

Thanks for your help!
