User set time between taking census'... Yes/No?

Post by SinfulCreature »

Greetings, fellow WarcraftRealms users!

I would like to start by saying that I find everything about this site usefull, being all in one place. I have setup UniUploader to upload on file change. After looking through the Census mod code, I see that the time between taking a census is set to ever 25mins. I would like to have the ability to set this value. Or, perhaps a drop-down menu, with preset times, in 15 minute intervals, would be a better idea (you don't want to allow uneducated users to unintentionally spam the server). I would attempt to assist, but I am no where near ready to work on a project of this complexity. If you too would like to see this option added, make a quick post. The more replies, the more likely it will actually happen, and it'll only take 30-60secs. Thanks for your time... Peace out!

It was actually implemented in version 3.4 back in July '06... Eventhough you may not know it! =)

/censusplus timer 15

That will set the timer to run every 15mins. So change that number to whatever you like in minutes and it will run the scan at that interval.

/censusplus will show you a list of commands in your General Chat tab that the mod can do.

Also I think Rollie has some modifications to make to the UI on his 'to-do list'. Hopefully some of them, including this, can be done in the future.

You just go /who playername. Rollie has it so it pauses Census for a moment. This is one of the best features he ever put in imo.

I need to dig into Blizz's UI code to see if I can trap the request from the shift click.

You know what's funny. Because of the way Blizz's stuff will just throw away any /who's done too frequently, I find myself wishing C+ was running sometimes so it would queue up my requests, heh.

I shift-click too, trying to train myself to type /who instead, as Censusplus is always running when I want to /who someone :)
