Alot of newb questions ;)

Post by Fizzed »

I?m sort of new to wow and I want to make a good start...
But I?ve got a couple of questions?.Hope u guys can help me :)
I don?t really know which world I want to choose, and I?m also thinking about my class?
One thing is for sure, that my first char will be a nelf warrior or a rogue?
I like pvp much but my question is that if I joined a pvp world (like bladefist eu) could I still have almost just as much fun questing like on a normal pve world then?
With that I mean that I hope that I won?t be constantly ganked by players or that (most) instances, areas or questgivers are still reachable for me?
Maybe shadowmeld is useful for not getting killed?
And then my next question will be what class I should choose?
Would a warrior be a good and fun option for a first character?
Or is it far more boring then a rogue?

Thanks in advance! (And sorry for my bad English :o )

English is fine :)

It really depends on the people on the PVP realm. Some people are all out gankers and will kill everyone in sight. Some will have fun and help you out and apologize whenever they accidentally attack you. I'm sure you will eventually reach the NPC's you are looking for when completing a quest.
Most big cities and camps have guards that protect them from people who engage in battle within its boarders. However there are hundreds of quests where you need to go to some NPC far away from a city or town and not protected by any guards so there is possibility that you will get ganked.

On a PVE realm.. don't look forward to any world pvping. Nearly everyone is not flagged. And if they are they would be the ones running around in really great gear and they know how to pvp very well. Or they might of just got flagged by mistake.

Shadowmeld isn't really useful, because you can't move while in Shadowmeld form. Its really only useful if your going AFK and want to make it that much harder for someone to find you.

Rogues are a fun class to play plus if you dont want to get ganked you can always run around in stealth mode

Try making a character on a PVP realm for both Warrior and Rogue and see how you like the class after going to like lvl 15 or 20.

on pve realms you only get flagged pvp in 2 ways:
1: you enter a bg
2: you heal/buff any person who had pvp flagged. --> always nice when you run out of an instance then xD

pve realm suck, there is sth that lacks....

it is more fun if you quest and must be aware of evil gangsters 8)
mostly you're not beeing killed until you enter Stranglethorn ;)

if you just like to quest and dont bother about kicking sb else, chose pve, else chose pvp ;)
rogues ..hm.. if wanna have good chances to be integrated into a guild, chose a class like druid priest or perhaps warlock. the guild always need healers. Just play your druid to lvl 70 (feral) and then switch to heal :D makes fun.

It's my first time playing on wow so i'd like to quest alot and i don't mind to die a few times but i don't think it isn't fun anymore if you got ganked 5 to 10 times a day...That won't happen, right?
I think my main character will be a fury warrior, i heard that they can deal alot of dps and sometimes even more then a rogue.Or am i wrong?
I don't want to heal and stuff but to deal the damage, but still have a high surviving rate, would a warrior be a good option then?
And for the guilds, it won't be really hard to get in one, right?

Yes, but warriors deal their main dmg in PvP (my WL has no chance there against warris). But still for the best "surviving" rate, you should think about the Druid: as a feral built, you're questing in the Cat-Form, dealin as much dmg as a Rogue. After having killed some mobs, you switch out the form, give yourself a big heal, and back to the cat !
If there are 3 mobs, you'll do them in the Bear-form. So easy to quest.

A WL is also cool to quest, powerful char, nice pvp rating, if sb goes on your nervs, fear it
To problem qwith the warrior is, that, against strong mobs, your lost if your HP drop low and the mob isn't down yet...

But it's your choice. experienced players also get along easyily with a priest questing ;)

As for the Guild-Question:
If you are a DEF-Tank, no problem, always welcome. As "dmg-dealer" hm...harder, because there are many other DD: WL,Mage,Rogue,Hunter,Feraldruid,Shadowpriest (but for shadowpriests too, some people think priests must heal...)
