Uploading data from outside US

Post by Killrog »

I live in Hong Kong and, since there are no Asian servers, have to play on a US server. Whenever I upload my data I get a message saying that, since I live ouside the US, my data has to be checked before it is added, yet it never seems to be added.

Should I bother to upload my data anymore since it never seems to be used? Is there a reason why you even need to have this type of check? I could almost understand if you checked for Europeans uploading to the US (and vice versa), since they have their own servers, but we have no other options.

I have been out of town the past few days so have been unable to verify those flagged uploads. I'll go through later today and review those uploads for processing.

The reason these seemingly bothersome checks are in place is due to Blizzard having named EU and US servers the same. In otherwords, there is both an EU Bloodscalp and a US Bloodscalp. I have no way to tell the difference between the 2 so I have to rely on a few measures to ensure the data is applied to the proper server. Utilizing geo-locating IP addresses can help me detect possible errors, but it just requires a few checks on my part to allow them through.

Sorry that it takes a little while longer on some updates, but it is something I am willing to deal with in order to maintain data integrity.
