When you have marked someone as a friend, how do you remove him/her again?

Same here. It'd be great to remove toons from the friends list. People have quit, moved, deleted.

What about removing a character you've claimed and it turned out to not become your main...or even a played toon any longer?

That can be done, Kastigir. When you are viewing the claimed character's info, in the upper right corner are following 3 options: Sig Maker, Clear Claim and Hide History.
Just pick Clear Claim and your error is corrected.
