Realm location via Region

I am on the EAST COAST and would like to know which servers offer the least amount of latency from the Northeast region (N.H.). I have tried a few different servers and in fact have seen varied results. Do you have a list of preferred PVE/PVP realms from this region? Is there a way to list the average latency per server from multiple locations?

There is no way to view which servers/realms have the best ping rates unless I roll a character and play for a awhile (insane!). Even then other issues could alter true network throughput.

How is the DNS name comprised? (ie. dunemaul.warcraft.com ??)
